H E L L O !

I’m Richard… I’m a wedding + lifestyle photographer based in the beautiful beach town of Bournemouth. I cover the whole of the UK, Elopements + Destination Weddings.

As a photographer I’m creative + like to capture weddings in a photojournalistic /documentary + playful style, making sure your day is captured as authentically as possible, getting those real moments that all come together to tell the story of your day. I’ve been snapping away at weddings all over the UK + far flung destinations for 5 years now. I know that not everyone loves to be in front of the camera, which is why I aim to be as relaxed about the whole process as possible, helping to make you feel comfortable + get the best images that reflect you as a couple.

Richard has been amazing since the day we first met him, he’s made us feel relaxed and comfortable infront of a camera and has some truly stunning work.

 BEC + TANIA - BARN 1890, ADELAIDE

This wedding, in so many ways, was an absolute dream come true. I barely know where to begin and would probably gush about it until the cows came home, but I’m pretty sure people would soon get tired of hearing me going on and on about it.

A destination wedding is always going to be up there in the top 3 of a wedding photographer’s wish list, or any other wedding supplier for that matter. I know for damn sure it was in mine. I always thought my first one would be a little closer to home, however, like France, Spain or Italy (still on my wish list by the way). So when Bec + Tania contacted me to say they wanted to book me for their wedding, I literally squealed with excitement. I was on a busy train to London at the time, so you can imagine the amount of funny looks I got. I didn’t really care though, as I’d just booked my first destination wedding, and what a corker it was going to be - in Adelaide, Australia!!!

RACHEL + RYAN - HALLMARK HOTEL BOURNEMOUTH CARLTON

Rachel came to me back in 2017 after booking my wedding stylist buddy, also a Rachel, from Love By Design Weddings & Events. Always love a recommendation, perfect way to feel good about what you’re doing. We met and chatted over coffee for an hour or so, and I liked her straight away. Even better after she said they were including their British Bulldog, Cookie, in the wedding. I ruddy love doggos - every couple who has one should include theirs in the day.

This was one of those time when you knew instantly that they were the right couple for you. The day was full of beach themed goodies, oversized games, Grand National fun, photo booth shenanigans, space hoppers, posh picnics, giant fondant fancies, gin, caricatures, and a first dance that was more like a rock concert.

Check out their blog for more photos and all the buzz from their day, and the links below for the ace suppliers.

BECCA + NOEL , THE CHRISTCHURCH HARBOUR HOTEL & SPA

Becca + Noel are two of the coolest people I’ve been lucky enough to meet; full of adventure, plenty of fun and laughter to boot.

This wedding was overflowing with love; there were laughs aplenty, a few tears, champagne, champagne, champagne, an amazing barbecue, dabbing, salsa moves to blow your mind and even a few dodgy moves by yours truly as ‘Single Ladies’ blasted out over the dance floor. Weddings and couples like this are why I love my job so much. Of course the venue itself is absolutely stunning with some incredible views over the waterside, and we even had the drinks reception on board a boat that took us around Mudeford for a good half hour enjoying snacks, bubbles and the gorgeous sunshine. Check out their blog for more details!

LUCY + DAN | THE OLD HALL, ELY

I’ve known Lucy for almost 15 years, so being asked to capture the wedding of her and Dan was an absolute honour. The Old Hall is a stunning venue nestled just outside Ely, near Cambridge and perfectly suited to wedding in all seasons, but for a winter wedding it’s just magical with a log fire burning gently during the ceremony. All of the finishing touches dotted around the venue, including framed photos of Lucy and Dan’s beloved cat, Colin, just made the day that bit more special. Marquees are a great way to accommodate the wedding party for the wedding breakfast onward, and it was fit for royalty, finished to a T by Elegant Design - Wedding and Events.

SAM + OWAIN | SCAPLEN’S COURT, POOLE

Sam and Owain are definitely one of the cutest, most down-to-earth couples I had the pleasure of working with in 2018. As soon as they said they were having a D.I.Y wedding, I knew I wanted in. Their wonderfully rustic and characterful ceremony was held at Scaplen’s Court, Poole - a Shakespearean-esque, Grade 1 listed building by the Quay. Drinks and nibbles followed in the gardens and then it was off to Lake Pier for the couples shoot. The main reception took us over to Morden Village Hall, with an amazing hog roast and sparklers to finish the day off.

SIÂN + JOE | DURLSTON CASTLE, SWANAGE

Siân and Joe are such a chilled-out couple, full of wanderlust and their love is kinda contagious. We met and had a coffee, sat and talked about random things, their wedding ideas and the mind-blowing honeymoon plans. The day saw mist rising over the hills of Worth Matravers, bridal prep in a stunning holiday cottage just a few minutes walk from the church. A classic VW Van ride through the countryside and reception with views to die for at Durlston Castle, near Swanage. The Jurassic Coast is a sight to behold and was the perfect setting for this couple’s evening shoot as the sun went down over the sea. And a first dance songs to end all first dances, to ‘Just Dance’ by the iconic Bowie - absolutely legendary!
