Becca + Noel are two of the coolest people I’ve been lucky enough to meet; full of adventure, plenty of fun and laughter to boot.

I started the day at Becca’s family home for the morning prep - which is a part of the day I never get bored of - I bloody love it! It’s a great chance to get to know the bridal party (if you haven’t already met any of them), and when you have superstar suppliers like Raechelle from Enchanted Beauty Bournemouth on board, you know it’s going to be a good time. The champagne corks were flying and the tea was on tap, along with warm pastries. These folk knew the way to my heart, I tell you. Later in the morning, another wedding buddy of mine stopped by to drop off the flowers for the day. Natasha from With Love From Flowers is a wizard of her craft, so you should definitely give her page a look over. Becca’s bouquets were bloomin’ brilliant, dotted with bright blues. All the B’s. I also got to meet and spend the day chatting with Laura from Purson Photography, who is great company and will give you an awesome wedding video.

A beautiful ceremony at All Saints Church, Mudeford, filled with touching readings from the mums, and Noel’s sister playing some magic on the harp. Dancing their way down the aisle as they made their exit as Mr & Mrs, walking out into the blazing late March sunshine and a tunnel of bubbles…so many bubbles! I laughed so hard as Noel’s mum emptied a whole tub of confetti over Noel. In your face!! After the couple were sufficiently papped by their loved ones, we were whisked down to Avon Beach in the super cool camper van from Dorset Dubbers for a stroll and some photos before we hopped on board the boat they’d hired at Mudeford Quay. Let me tell you, this is the best drinks reception I’ve ever witnessed (so far). It was so much fun going out on the water, with the crowds on the shore waving at us like the royalty we were/are, taking in the scenery and the sunshine while knocking back a champagne or two.

More champagne on arrival at The Christchurch Harbour Hotel & Spa, and if you haven’t been there yet, firstly…why not?! and secondly, go for an afternoon tea and soak up all the views over the water!

We had French Horns being played and even the groom himself gave us a blast which was very cool. Love seeing hidden talents being shown off like that, very unique. Before the wedding breakfast there was some time for the family photos, a few more for the lovely couple and plenty of candid moments captured of the guests having a ruddy good time. One thing I really loved was the blue nautical theme that carried through the decor and little glimpses into Becca and Noel’s travels together. Speeches were both touching and hilarious in equal measure, and there was even a special song sung for the couple by Noel’s family, a Dutch tradition which was perfect for the day. Great to see so much coming from both sides of the family!

After everyone was suitably stuffed, Becca, Noel and I headed out for a few more photos and to recreate one we’d shot on their engagement shoot the summer before. It’s the first time I’d done this, but I’ll definitely be looking to do it again for future couples when I can.

When we arrived back, everyone had moved downstairs to boogie the night away to the tunes being played by Adam from Primo Parties. The couple had their first dance and blew us all away with their salsa skills as they twirled and sashayed around the dance floor to ‘Despacito’. My jaw was on the floor the whole time! Another part of the day that I adore, when everyone lets loose and busts a move, and even I threw in a few dodgy moves as ‘Single Ladies’ came on. And just when I thought that all the feels had been had, Becca’s 90 year-old granddad came on the dance floor to have a dance with the beautiful bride - a truly amazing moment and I’m not even a bit ashamed to admit that it made me well up.

If I was to sum up this wedding, it would be… a bloody awesome day, spent with some of the most wonderful people. I absolutely love my job! And I now have two extra awesome friends/gin buddies.

So take a look at the photos in the gallery below, and if you’re planning your wedding and fancy me as your ace photographer, I’d love to meet with you and hear all about your plans.

Until next time,

R x
